According to Omnicom Group, the world’s leading advertising agency, the holiday season officially begins in October with the television commercial airing of Time Life’s “Treasury of Christmas” CD collection.

You can expect all of your favorites like ceramic figurines of Santa Claus kneeling before a manger of baby Jesus, inflatable naughty Mrs. Claus dolls, and 24 karat gold dreidels,” Joseph added. “New items we expect your loved ones to want under the tree or menorah come 2010 include the Ann Coulter nutcracker, RIP In Loving Memory Amy Winehouse Bratz doll, and a new Hannah Montana maternity line.”

Karen Faulk, a 24 year old special education teacher from Lakeview, questioned whether she would purchase gifts now for next year’s Christmas. Faulk typically has the toughest time finding gifts for her boyfriend of two years, Chris, a 26 year old stock analyst.

“I just couldn’t buy Chris a present for next year’s Christmas without a ring on my left hand. I mean that’s a huge commitment. I wouldn’t want to be stuck with like a Ralph Lauren tie or Tommy Bahama cologne if we weren’t together in 2010,” Faulk said. “Oops, I hope that doesn’t make him mad. Thank god he only reads the Journal.”
Christmas time is the most miraculous time in a year. The wide known song White Christmas is certainly one of the most beautiful and famous of all the Christmas songs. The music and lyrics for this song were written by Irving Berlin in 1942 and originally featured in the movie Holiday Inn starring Bing Crosby. The lyrics of White Christmas struck a chord with the soldiers fighting in the Second World War and their families who were waiting for them back home. The song and recording of White Christmas by Bing Crosby with John Scott Trotter’s orchestra and the Ken Darby Singers was so popular that it was later reprized in the movie called after its name – White Christmas. The film White Christmas once again starred Bing Crosby together with Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen.
