Valentine
Valentine is coming, hope you’re preparing for? Here is some quotes that could be used for help to express feelings in case you have not enough talent to invent something new one excepting ‘I love you!’:-) As to me I must confess that I have a big problem to find out needed words about love especially at the moment I just must say something:-) The best is ‘Be my wife’ of course, but frankly saying I’m no ready yet to make such serious step. Anyway here is helpful quotes.

“I don’t pretend to know what love is for everyone, but I can tell you what it is for me; love is knowing all about someone, and still wanting to be with them more than any other person, love is trusting them enough to tell them everything about yourself, including the things you might be ashamed of, love is feeling comfortable and safe with someone, but still getting weak knees when they walk into a room and smile at you.”
“When you smiled you had my undivided attention. When you laughed you had my urge to laugh with you. When you cried you had my urge to hold you. When you said you loved me, you had my heart forever.”
“Love is the condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own.”
Robert Heinlein quotes (American science-fiction writer,1907-1988)
“The minute I heard my first love story I started looking for you, not knowing how blind that was. Lovers don’t finally meet somewhere. They’re in each other all along.”
Jalal ad-Din Rumi quotes (Persian Poet and Mystic, 1207-1273)
“Life’s greatest happiness is to be convinced we are loved.”
Victor Hugo quotes (French romantic Poet, Novelist and Dramatist, 1802-1885)
“Love is the only gold.”
Alfred, Lord Tennyson quotes (English poet often regarded as the chief representative of the Victorian age in poetry, 1809-1892)
“Each moment of a happy lover’s hour is worth an age of dull and common life”
Aphra Behn quotes (English dramatist, novelist, and poet, 1640-1689)
“To love is to receive a glimpse of heaven”
Karen Sunde quotes
“A life without love is like a year without summer.”
Swedish Proverb quotes
“If I could be anything in the world I would want to be a teardrop because I would be born in your eyes, live on your cheeks, and die on your lips.”

Wedding By the Sea
Are you planning your marriage? What about a beach themed wedding?
No doubt there are plenty of reasons for getting married somewhere “over the rainbow”, especially as the weather is still cold now and nobody knows how long it will last.
Yes, I’ve learned that the real act of marriage takes place in the heart and cold weather with its exercises can be safe, effective and, yes, fun, but… As to me I just hate this cold, awful time of year dreaming about places where “good” weather is meaning not only “no rain and snow” but the warm wind against my cheeks and the tender sea that caresses my feet. What is better than a summer wedding by the sea?

So if you’d prefer the beach themed way just go for it, especially as you can find right now, online every conceivable and unconceivable beach wedding favors though it were palm trees, sea biscuit, sailboats, dolphins, lighthouse or seashell candles, sea urchins, starfish and silk wedding favors and more, shortly you can pick up easily all what you need to make you big day romantic, magical, exciting and really unforgettably special.
There is only one happiness in life, to love and be loved. Love is here and now, real and true, the most important thing in our lives but you know, I guess, that the sound of palm fronds clacking in the breeze and turquoise warm sea lapping the pale sandy shore would do no harm at all.

Midnight Mass
Throughout the years, Midnight Mass has been a popular Christmas Mass choice for many Catholics. But how did the tradition of this Mass begin?
In the early history of the Church, vigils were held before every feast for the purpose of preparing for the feast itself. Mass would be held in the evening, followed by a period of prayer and contemplation. Solemn services were then held the next morning. As more feasts arose, the number of vigils kept was decreased. In the current Roman Calendar, there are six Masses designated as vigils to proceed the feasts the next day: vigils for Easter, Christmas, Pentecost, Ascension, Nativity of St. John the Baptist, and the Feasts of Saints Peter and Paul. Vigil Masses are so designated because their propers and readings differ from the Masses for those feasts themselves, while remaining tied to the feasts. Vigil Masses therefore differ from normal anticipated Masses, which are the same as the Mass taking place the next day, but held the preceding evening.
The vigil Mass for Christmas, held Christmas Eve, also differs from the Christmas Midnight Mass. Christmas Day actually has three separate Masses that are or can be held, in addition to the vigil – at midnight, at dawn, and during the day. It is not known exactly how the tradition of the three Masses originated, as even the origin of the feast of Christmas itself isn’t certain – depending on the city, something resembling a Christmas celebration started in different years (and at varying times of the year, as well). By the end of the fourth century it was almost universally held on December 25, with Rome having started celebrating it on that date before 354, and Constantinople not before 379. The celebration of Epiphany on January 6 had previously been the major Christmas-like celebration, but once December 25 became the widely agreed-upon date of Christmas the celebrations moved to that date as well.
In the 380s, a Christian woman named Egeria made a pilgrimage to Jerusalem, observing for three years and keeping a journal of the customs and liturgies she saw there. She witnessed the Christians celebrating the birth of Christ on January 6, since it appears the tradition of celebrating Christmas on December 25 had not yet begun there, beginning with a midnight vigil in Bethlehem, which was followed by a torchlight procession to Jerusalem culminating with a gathering in Jerusalem at dawn. When the basilica of St. Mary Major was built in Rome around 430, Pope Sixtus III included a replica chapel of the Bethlehem cave where Jesus was born, and much like had been the practice in Jerusalem when Egeria visited, he instituted the celebration of a midnight Mass in this chapel.
Around 550 AD, the Pope began to celebrate a Mass in the Church of St. Anastasia before dawn on Christmas Day, initially because the feast of St. Anastasia was celebrated on December 25. Eventually, though, this evolved into a second Christmas Mass that seemed to replicate the dawn celebrations that Egeria witnessed in Jerusalem. This Christmas Mass would be followed by the Pope going to St. Peter’s to celebrate the dawn office of Christmas with the faithful. Until sometime before 1156, only Popes were allowed to celebrate the three Christmas Masses, but by 1156 there is evidence that priests began to say all three as well, which still occurs today. A single priest can celebrate all three Christmas Day Masses, provided they follow the correct times (midnight, dawn, and sometime during the day). The midnight Mass is different from Christmas vigil Masses held earlier in the evening of Christmas Eve. Any of the four types of Christmas Masses (vigil, midnight, dawn, or day) is valid for fulfilling the Christmas Mass obligation.

Black Friday Web shopping
It’s reported that this Black Friday Web shopping up 11 percent from last year, Holiday shoppers spent some $595 million online.
The robust Web sales on Black Friday speak to retailers’ attractive discounts online even on a weekend known for driving shoppers to brick-and-mortar stores, said Fulgoni.
“While this acceleration in spending suggests the online holiday season may be shaping up slightly more optimistically than anticipated, it may also reflect the heavy discounting and creative promotions being put forth by retailers that now encompass the use of social networks such as Facebook and Twitter,” said Fulgoni.
Black Friday is the Friday following Thanksgiving Day in the United States, which is the beginning of the traditional Christmas shopping season. The term dates back to at least 1966, although its usage was primarily on the East coast. The term has become more common in other parts of the country since 2000. Because Thanksgiving falls on the fourth Thursday in November in the United States, Black Friday occurs between the 23rd and the 29th of November. According to Reuters, in 2007 135 million people participated in the Black Friday shopping rush.

Divali
Todau is wonderful holiday – Divali. This is a Hindu festival celebrated in India and across the world on Amaavasya, that is, the fifteenth night of the dark fortnight of the month of Kaartik (October/November). The word “Divali” is a variation of the Sanskrit word “Deepavali” – Deepa meaning light and Avali, meaning a row. This festival has been referred to as Divali, Diwali, Dipavali and Deepavali among other variations. Generally, however, it is considered the Festival of Lights. Traditionally, it is marked by the lighting of deeyas which are made from clay and filled with oil or ghee. Devotees also clean their homes and surroundings, wear new clothing and give charity to the needy.

There are several legends about the festival. One of the most common stories about Divali is the return of Lord Rama (Lord Ram) and his wife Sita to Ayodhya after their fourteen year exile. This is related in the Ramayana (i.e. the Story of Rama). It tells the tale of how Lord Rama, with the aid of the monkey warrior, Hanuman, vanquished the evil king Ravana of Lanka and rescued his wife Sita who had been captured.
After this victory, the entire city of Ayodhya was decorated with garlands and flowers in celebration for the arrival of Lord Ram’s return. The suroundings were very clean and beautifully scented. Throughout Ayodhya devotees were fasting, anxiously waiting for the arrival of Lord Ram. Ram returned to Ayodhya with Sita and was greeted with joy and celebrations and the people lighted rows of clay lamps welcome him. This signified the triumph of good over evil and the coming of God-consciousness into the life of the devotee. The day he destroyed Ravana was called Dussehra, and the day on which he returned to Ayodhya was called Divali.
It is believed that Divali falls on the 20th day after Dussehra which is on Amavasya (new moon), during the fortnight of Kartic, some time in October or November.

Dreaming of a White Christmas
According to Omnicom Group, the world’s leading advertising agency, the holiday season officially begins in October with the television commercial airing of Time Life’s “Treasury of Christmas” CD collection.
“Macy’s is unparalleled in our commitment to our customers. That’s why we’re providing the opportunity to shop for the hottest and most popular items for Holiday 2010. You can expect all of your favorites like ceramic figurines of Santa Claus kneeling before a manger of baby Jesus, inflatable naughty Mrs. Claus dolls, and 24 karat gold dreidels,” Joseph added. “New items we expect your loved ones to want under the tree or menorah come 2010 include the Ann Coulter nutcracker, RIP In Loving Memory Amy Winehouse Bratz doll, and a new Hannah Montana maternity line.”
Karen Faulk, a 24 year old special education teacher from Lakeview, questioned whether she would purchase gifts now for next year’s Christmas. Faulk typically has the toughest time finding gifts for her boyfriend of two years, Chris, a 26 year old stock analyst.
“I just couldn’t buy Chris a present for next year’s Christmas without a ring on my left hand. I mean that’s a huge commitment. I wouldn’t want to be stuck with like a Ralph Lauren tie or Tommy Bahama cologne if we weren’t together in 2010,” Faulk said. “Oops, I hope that doesn’t make him mad. Thank god he only reads the Journal.”
Christmas time is the most miraculous time in a year. The wide known song White Christmas is certainly one of the most beautiful and famous of all the Christmas songs. The music and lyrics for this song were written by Irving Berlin in 1942 and originally featured in the movie Holiday Inn starring Bing Crosby. The lyrics of White Christmas struck a chord with the soldiers fighting in the Second World War and their families who were waiting for them back home. The song and recording of White Christmas by Bing Crosby with John Scott Trotter’s orchestra and the Ken Darby Singers was so popular that it was later reprized in the movie called after its name – White Christmas. The film White Christmas once again starred Bing Crosby together with Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen.
I’m dreaming of a white Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the treetops glisten,
and children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow
I’m dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white
I’m dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white

Wedding Ring Gift
Actually how many torments lie in the small circle of a wedding ring! As the saying is marriage requires a person to prepare 4 types of “Rings”: Engagement Ring Wedding Ring, Suffering, Enduring”.
From a jack to a king from loneliness to a wedding ring
I’ve played a ace and I won the queen
I walked away with your heart
From a jack to a king
With no regrets I stacked, I stacked the cards, I stacked the cards last night
And lady luck played her hand just right
You made me king of your heart
Oh for just a little while I thought that I might lose the game
Oh but just in time I saw that twinkle in your eyes
From a jack to a king of loneliness to a wedding, wedding, wedding ring
I played an ace and I won the queen
You made me king of your heart
For just a little while I thought that I might lose the game
Oh but just in time I saw, I saw that twinkle in your eyes
From a jack to a king from loneliness to a wedding, wedding, wedding ring
I played an ace and I won the queen
You made me king of your heart
But you know at the beginning no matter what you personally decide, no doubt she is expecting a diamond only!
Well, what do we know about the history of the engagement ring, why diamond rings and where is the tradition from? There are many myth and fantasy about but all we know exactly is
the wedding ring is a symbol of ever lasting purity, love, devotion and commitment between two people.
The ancient Roman’s called their engagement ring the betrothal (Truth) ring. The Romans were the first to wear the ring on the third finger of the left hand. The Middle Ages and the Gimmal or “bond” ring was invented, but it’s doubtful that this was an engagement ring design. However, sapphires, emeralds and rubies would have been the norm for those who could afford them. Because diamond is the hardest and strongest mineral on earth it was seen to resist fire and steel and thus symbolize the unbending union of a man and woman in wedlock. So it became more commonplace for the European super wealthy and royalty to give a diamond engagement ring at this time. Less wealthy citizens would have given a Fede (faith) ring in the form of two clasped hands more akin to the more modern claddagh (clasped hands) engagement rings. Diamonds became more readily available In the 18th Century, when diamonds were discovered in Brazil. Diamond cluster engagement rings were fashionable among the wealthy.
From 1880 De Beers were able to control the supply (and price) of diamonds but how were they going to control demand during a period when sales began dropping dramatically (up to 50%) in the 20s and 30s onwards through the great depression?
Just as platinum started to become popular in diamond engagement rings, diamonds were becoming less valued. Platinum was banned for all but war use during WWII and so the platinum diamond engagement rings as we know them today almost died out.
The answer to the problem was a new marketing campaign commissioned by De Beers that began in 1947. Perhaps you’ve heard the slogan “A Diamond is forever”? This was to mark the beginning of a change in the history of the engagement ring.
Subsequent campaigns would convince families to hold on to their diamonds as family heirlooms… and it worked! Used diamonds were not being released back into the industry which in turn created the demand that De Beers were seeking.
Jewelers were unofficially educated by De Beers to instruct men that two to three months personal wages were an ideal price to pay for the diamond engagement ring that their prospective fiancée’s would gladly accept.
In 1953 the world’s two most glamorous women of the time Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell were the stars of the hit film musical Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.
The plot involves Monroe and Russell chasing potential husbands on a cruise to France. The movie also features a very famous song sung by the blonde bombshell Marilyn Monroe, Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend.
This film would have undoubtedly influenced public opinion at the time and will have advanced the popularity of diamonds for years afterwards through Hollywood glamour.
The film is now 50 years old but it’s still a firm favorite of all who love Hollywood and the legend of Monroe. (Of course there are others: High Society, Breakfast At Tiffany’s, Diamonds Are Forever among them)
This is where the tradition of the diamond engagement ring really started, all from an advertising campaign that literally “rocked” the world! (Get it? “rocked”…. okay I’ll shut up!) So you see buying a diamond engagement ring isn’t really a popular ancient tradition.
It’s more a combination of “dreaming of being a princess”, a clever marketing campaign and compelling Hollywood glamour that ultimately promotes diamonds as the only jewels with which to furnish your loved one as a sign of engagement.
The 21st Century
The history of the engagement ring has moved on and demand for diamonds and platinum diamond engagement rings is still rising. The tradition is here to stay. Estimated 78% of all engagement rings sold every year are diamond.
